  • Groups have many different options to see any show or get a personalized or behind the scenes tour of the Andy Griffith Playhouse, Andy Griffith Museum and/or Gardens, Siamese Twins Museum, and Historic Earle Theatre & Old-Time Music Heritage Hall.

    Guided and self-guided tours usually take 1-2 hours. There is a lot of information at audio-visual stations as well as an audio guide with hours of museum and exhibit enhancements.

  • Andy Griffith Playhouse Behind the Scenes & Andy Griffith Museum Tour
    The Andy Griffith Playhouse is the site of Griffith’s very first stage appearance when he was eight years old! Live theatre shows are in various stages of production year-round. Behind the Scenes Tours offer guests opportunities to see additional memorabilia and artifacts. The Andy Griffith Museum is just steps away, and guests enjoy scenes and stories from Andy’s childhood in Mount Airy to his Broadway, movie, television, and Grammy-winning recording career. Tours of the Andy Griffith Museum and Andy Griffith Playhouse also include the Betty Lynn Exhibit, which highlights the life and career of the actress who portrayed fan-favorite Thelma Lou on The Andy Griffith Show.

    The Siamese Twins Museum Tour
    From their youth in Siam (modern day Thailand) to a legendary career of entertaining around the world to settling down on farms to raise their families in Mount Airy, Eng and Chang Bunker lived remarkable lives. The Siamese Twins Museum tells their fascinating stories. Ten interactive displays, along with many artifacts from their lives, enhance the storytelling about the twins, who were the world’s biggest celebrities of the 19th century and whose legacies continue to today.

    Historic Earle Theatre and Old-Time Music Heritage Hall Tour
    The Historic Earle Theatre is home to the WPAQ Merry-Go-Round, the second longest continuously running live radio broadcast in the nation (second only to the Grand Ole Opry). The Merry-Go-Round is held each Saturday, year-round, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Earle is open daily and features artifacts and audio-visual displays of Surry County Old-Time Music legends.The Earle also hosts feature movies, concerts, and workshops. Admission to the Historic Earle Theatre is included in the Andy Griffith Museum admission price. The Earle can take an additional hour or more if guests take advantage of the self-guided tour, the Surry County Music documentary hosted by David Holt, and the instructional old-time dance audio-visual station.

    Blackmon Amphitheatre
    Summer concerts are held Thursday to Saturday evenings all summer long at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Groups may sit together with advance reservations.

      - Professor Neal Brower Lecture ~ Enjoy a screening of an episode from The Andy Griffith Show, followed by an engaging discussion. $500

     - John Floyd: The Mouth of Mayberry Comedy Show ~ A hilarious show full of comedy suitable for the whole family. John has worked with artists including Milton Berle, Frankie Valli, Jamie Foxx, Chubby Checker, and Martina McBride. $800

     - Old-Time Music Experience with a local musician $500

     - Live Theatre at the Andy Griffith Playhouse – Per person cost varies*

     - Concerts at the Andy Griffith Playhouse and Historic Earle Theatre – Per person cost varies*
